How ImmerSUN works
ImmerSUN monitors the electricity your PV system generates, and how much you are sending back to the grid. It then automatically directs any excess generated electricity, not used by the house, to the immersion heater in the hot water cylinder. If the load from the house increases, eg the washing machine is turned on, the ImmerSUN will reduce the amount sent to heat water to help you maintain independence from the grid. Installation
You will need an immersion heater installed in your hot water cylinder. Normally you can use your existing immersion heater if it's up to 3kW. The simplest place to install ImmerSUN is near the consumer unit (fuse box), and it doesn't matter what type of electricity meter you have, ImmerSUN works with all standard types.
Prices
Our supply and fit price for ImmerSUN, using a NICEIC qualified electrician is £499* inc VAT, or for ImmerSUN plus monitoring £575* inc VAT. ImmerSUN typically pays for itself in 2-5 years. As energy prices increase, the amount you save each year increases.
*Minimum Install conditions:
1. Immersion heater must be supplied from existing dedicated radial circuit.
2. ImmerSun unit installed within 3m of consumer unit / fuse box and incoming meter tails (other locations possible by discussion).
3. Earthing and bonding must be present and up to applicable standards.
4. Existing immersion heater element should have a thermostat with over temperature safety cutout present (to latest standards).
5. Monitoring unit requires internet connection.
